PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controlling agent having attachment activity against attached organisms by making the agent contain polygodial as an effective component. ;SOLUTION: A controlling agent having attachment prohibiting activity against attached organism contains extracted Tasmannia Lanceolata obtained by extraction containing at least a process using hexane. The material extracted with hexane from leaves of Tasmannia Lanceolata plant particular in Tasmannia shows a high adherence prohibiting activity against underwater living things and the active component is polygodial represented by formula which is a resquiterpene having dialdehyde. The extracted material containing 20 to 30 wt.% of polygodial per the extracted material is used as the controlling agent having attachment prohibiting activity against attached organism. The extracted material is manufactured by a process comprising obtaining a material extracted from leaves of Tasmannia Lanceolate plant with an alcohol, extracting with hexane and removing the solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
