PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sesame lignan and/or sesame flavor in high purity and a high yield by extracting a sesame oil under a supercritical condition. SOLUTION: A sesame oil is extracted under a supercritical condition, e.g. under the condition of 35-50 deg.C temperature and 120-400 bar, preferably 140-350 bar pressure by using CO2 as a solvent, and water, ethyl alcohol or the like as an entrainer to provide the objective component. The sesame oil is preferably the one obtained by a supercritical treatment from a roasted or unroasted sesame seeds. The sesame lignan has antioxidant activities.
