PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the maintainability and reliability of a source program and the facility of a verification test. SOLUTION: A program normalizing means normalizes a read source program into a format in which pattern recognition becomes easy. When the instruction sentence of the normalized source program is a decision sentence, an extracting means extracts a series of conversion units described with the decision sentence. When a pattern recognizing means recognizes a conversion pattern coinciding with the extracted conversion units, it gives the pattern number of the coinciding conversion pattern to the extracted conversion units. A substituting means converts a conversion unit recognized as convertible into a conversion pattern. And, when the conversion processing of a source program is entirely finished, a program restoring means restores a part that does not become a standardization object of the program normalizing means.
