PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an accident sound without being affected by the level of an input signal, by using the continued time of inputted accident sound, comparing it with reference continued time which is previously set, and detecting the accident sound. ;SOLUTION: If an acoustic signal 100 is generated when an accident has occurred and it is inputted from an external peripheral sound detection device, a waveform shaping circuit 50 removes an unnecessary signal component and a prescribed output signal 105 is generated in the waveform shaping circuit 50. The output signal 105 is inputted to a continuous time operation means 60 and the continuous time of the output signal 105 is calculated. A reference continued time generation circuit 75 previously sets continued time as reference. Then, continued times for respective frequency bands are compared with reference continued time by using a comparison circuit 80. When a continued time is longer than the reference continued time, accident sound in the frequency band is judged to have been generated and an accident sound signal 140 is generated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
