Separation method of the active ingredient therein and the active fraction of Cordyceps

PURPOSE: To obtain an active fraction from Cordyceps capable of inhibiting activation of human mesangial cells, improving IgA nephritis and preventing onsets of uremia. ;CONSTITUTION: This active fraction of Cordyceps has a structure expressed by the formula and obtained from active fractions which are obtained by heating and drying fruit bodies of Cordyceps at 45-50°C in the dark, crushing and immersing them in 20 times of methanol for 24 hours, concentrating the extract solution under a reduced pressure to obtain a crude extract and fractionating the crude extract through a silica gel thin layer chromatography and a reversed phase-high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) in this order. The obtained active fraction has 40 μM growth inhibition₅₀ (GI₅₀)(50% growth inhibition).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
