PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate requirement for removing a work from a machine tool prior to measurement, when a dimension of the work is measured, to be washed and cleaned outside the machine tool, and to conduct the measurement while effectively cleaning a measured portion immediately in a condition where the work is mounted on the machine tool after machined. ;SOLUTION: This prove 35 is provided with a contact member 41 for contacting with a surface of a work, and a rod-like supporting member 37 connected to the member 41 to support it. Cleaning fluid blowing-out ports 39, 40 for blowing out a cleaning fluid for cleaning a measured portion are opened in the contact member 41. The cleaning fluid is blown out from the contact member 41 prior to contact of the member 41 with the measured portion at the time of the measurement to start cleaning of the measured portion, and the contact member 41 is brought thereafter into contact with the workpiece to measure the coordinate values.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
