SUN TRACKING UNIT AND SUN TRACKING METHOD FOR SOLAR TRACKING POWER GENERATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sun tracking unit and a sun tracking method for a solar tracking power generation system with which the system can track the sun, while maintaining the system the maximum power generating efficiency despite the low cost. ;SOLUTION: A sun tracking unit is provided with a power generation unit 13 containing one or two or more solar cells, power detecting means 30 and 31 which detect the power outputted from the unit 13, and a maximum power direction detecting means 16, which detects the direction of the unit 13 in which the power detected by means of the detecting means 30 and 31 becomes a maximum. The tracking unit is also provided with a sun direction detecting means 21 which detects the direction of the sun, a calculating means 16 which calculates the difference between the direction of the sun detected by means of the detecting means 21, and the direction in which the power detected by means of the detecting means 16 becomes the maximum, and a tracking control means 16 which makes the power generation unit 13 track the sun by moving the unit 13 at prescribed time intervals in the direction which is decided by correcting the direction of the sun detected by means of the detecting means 21 by a difference which is calculated by means of the calculating means 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
