PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material having a bimetallic layer in which reincorcing materials are uniformly dispersed into a matrix, excellent in wear resistance and reducing abrasiveness to the mating material by compounding a hard carbide grains of a specified grain size at a specified amount as reinforcing material with Ni base alloy as matrix. ;SOLUTION: This material is obtd. by using an Ni base alloy or a Co base alloy excellent in corrosion resistance as a matrix and compounding this with hard carbide grains of 50 to 150 μ and 1 to 10 μ grain sizes by 15 to 30 vol.% in total as reinforcing materials. This composite material is build-up welding on the inside face of a cylinder or the tip part of the flight of a screw by a powder plasma build-up welding (PTA) method, by which a bimetallic layer in which carbide grains are uniformly dispersed, excellent in wear resistance and also reducing abrasiveness to the mating material can be obtd. Moreover, since the hard carbide grains of 50 to 150 μ and 1 to 10 μ grain sizes are fine- grained powders and are hard to be fed to a PTA device, they are preferably granulated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
