SOLUTION: In grinding a flank relief of a cutting edge 53, a turning angle of an A axis swivel base 5 is set to a position of 40 degrees, and a work spindle 6 is positioned by indexing/rotating it in a position of 123 degrees and 303 degrees around the C axis to perform grinding. Then, in grinding the inverse taper surface of the outside diameter part 54 of a flat drill 50, an A axis swivel base 5 is stopped by turning it by an angle of an inverse taper from a standard position with the A axis as the center, a grinding wheel spindle 9 is turned to a 0 degree position by a B axis swivel base 8, a rough work grinding wheel is selected, rough grinding of an inverse taper is performed by grinding a work while continuously rotating the work spindle 6, the grinding wheel spindle 9 is turned to a position of 180 degrees, and a finishing work grinding wheel is selected to perform finishing grinding work.
