PRODUCTION OF POROUS CARBONIZED MATERIAL BY USING LIQUOR WASTE, AND POROUS CARBONIZED MATERIAL PREPARED THEREBY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a porous carbonized material useful as a soil conditioner by mixing and kneading porous particulate charcoal with liquor production lees and thermally drying and curing the resultant mixture, SOLUTION: Porous particulate charcoal in an amount of 100 pts,wt, is mixed and kneaded with 100-1,000 pts.wt. liquor production lees, and the resultant mixture is thermally dried and cured at 60-150 deg.C. The lees of shochu, sake, beer, or the like is used as the liquor production lees, The porous particulate charcoal is produced by carbonizing a woody waste (e.g. sawdust) at about 800 deg.C in a rotary kiln and adjusting the particle size of the carbonization product. The porous carbonized material is produced by adding 4-12 pts.wt. lees (e.g. shochu lees) having a pH adjusted to about 7. 0 with an aqueous caustic soda solution to 10 pts.wt. porous particulate charcoal, mixing them for 5-6 min, pouring the resultant mixture into a mold, and thermally curing the mixture at 60-150 deg.C. The material is in the shape of a block, a powder, a plate, particles, granules, a sheet, or the like.
