MEASURING APPARATUS FOR FLOW DIRECTION AND FLOW VELOCITY OF GROUND WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the flow direction and the flow velocity of ground water over a wide flow-velocity range by using an apparatus which is inserted into a single well. ;SOLUTION: A detecting chamber 2 which is surrounded by a porous metal plate 7 and a wire net 8 is installed at a proper place in a cylindrical probe 1. A cylindrical heating element 4 whose surface is heated uniformly by a heating wire is installed in its center. Then, a plurality of temperature detectors 51 to 58 are arranged so as to surround the heating element 4 in a concentric circle shape.
