CUP INSTALLATION ANGLE SETTER FOR ARTIFICIAL HIP JOINT REPLACEMENT ARTHROPLASTY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to exactly set the insertion angle of a Kirschner's wire(K-wire) which is a collation reference of a cup installation angle setting into an ileum in artificial hip joint replacement arthroplasty to embed an artificial cup into the acetabulum of the hip joint. ;SOLUTION: A head 3 is mounted at the front end of an instrument body for correctly determining a posture by collation with a reference bar 5, and further, a guide bar 4 is mounted at the front end of this head 3. The biaxial inclination angle of a guide hole 13 disposed at the axial central part of the guide bar 4 is set in compliance with a target by the rotation of the head 3, and the inclination of the guide bar 4 and the K-wire is guided by this guide hole 13 and is inserted into the patient's ileum. When the cup is embedded into the acetabulum in parallel with the K-wire by using this K-wire as the collation reference of the installation angle, the installation angle of the cup is made into the angle nearly complying with the target.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
