PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform film quantity in a wide range and control and activate the terminal structure of a surface by dissolving diamond fine particle to various organic solvents, and pouring this to a mold consisting of metal or ceramics followed by natural drying or sintering. ;SOLUTION: Diamond fine particle (particle size: 0-several 10 μm) is dissolved in various liquids such as an organic solvent as acetone or alcohol and water, and this is sintered at a temperature of about 100°C-300°C for several minutes to several hours and fixed to a mold wall surface. A diamond emitter is manufactured in this manner, whereby the ununiformity of growth can be prevented from being connected to the ununiformity of electron emission. When the diamond fine particle is dissolved to the solution, several ppm to several 10% of a compound represented by urea is simultaneously dissolved as an impurity source, whereby a desired impurity can be taken into diamond by a desired concentration, and a stable electron emitting phenomenon can be exhibited even with a low voltage or electric field.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
