PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the motion evaluation method that is usefully realizes noise compression valid for the case with a moving object. ;SOLUTION: The motion evaluation image processing method decides a moving vector field from a time image to a succeeding time image based on the block matching algorithm. The method by this invention acquires three consecutive time images including a processed image (J_t), a causal image (J_t-1), and an anti-causal image (J_t+1), decides a couple of blocks (CB_t-1, CB_t+1) that are in existence in a reference block (RB_t) in the processed image, and in the causal image and the anti-causal image and is in best matching with the reference block (RB_t) according to a luminance similarity reference and decides a motion vector in relation to the reference block based on a position of a couple of the blocks with respect to the reference block.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
