PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a memory capacity or the like of a computer without lowering a performance in installing an algorithm by reducing a scale of an in-gate judge matrix to be formed in a sequence of processes for updating a hypothesis of a track process and of a wake correlation matrix. ;SOLUTION: All observation vectors at the present time present in gates of all wakes present in a subject hypothesis of hypotheses to be sequentially judged in a cluster are described in an in-hypothesis observation vector table 4a. An hypothesis in-gate judge matrix calculation part 5a calculates an in- hypothesis in-gate judge matrix indicating a correlation possibility of all observation vectors included in the subject hypothesis in the cluster and wakes. A hypothesis wave correlation matrix calculation part 7a calculates all wake correlation matrices 8a from the hypothesis in-gate judge matrix. A hypothesis update part 9a combines the subject hypothesis with the earlier calculated wake correlation matrix thereby updating the hypothesis to meet the present state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
