PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a negative type radiation sensitive mixture for the production of a recording material capable of forming an image under heat or infrared laser beams. SOLUTION: The negative type radiation sensitive mixture contains an organic polymeric binder and a material that converts radiation energy into heat. The polymeric binder contains units of the formulae as essential components and has an acid value of 5-150. The recording material contains a substrate and a layer of the mixture.
