PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat resistance, chemical resistance and conductivity of the compsn. by doping a polyaniline structural unit of a linear alternate copolymer consisting of a polyaniline structural unit and an imide structural unit each expressed by specified formula with a protonic acid. ;SOLUTION: This polyaniline structural unit of a linear alternate copolymer consisting of a polyaniline structural unit expressed by formula I and an imide structural unit expressed by formula II is doped with a protonic acid. Thereby, the heat resistance and the chemical resistance of this polyimide compsn. can be improved. Then, by using this compsn., a gas separation membrane having excellent selective permeability for various kinds of gases can be obtd. In the formula I, m, n are molar fraction of a quinone diimine unit and a phenylene diamine unit, respectively, in the structural unit, satisfying 0≤m≤1, 0≤n≤1, m+n=1.
