THERMALLY DEFORMABLE BIOPERMISSIBLE ABSORBABLE POLYMER BASE MATERIAL OF TWO PHASES FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bioabsorbable and biopermissible polymer base material. SOLUTION: The base material has preferably an amorphous and continuous phase. The base material has a dispersible phase consisting of the biopermissible material having a low m.p. The dispersible phase acts as a scattering center of light and melts at a temp. lower than the continuous phase of the base material. The base material is particularly effective for the various medical treatment apparatus. When the base material is heated up to about the m. p. of the dispersible phase described above, the base material exhibits a visual change. As a result, a visual instruction is given to a surgeon using the medical treatment apparatus and the surgeon is able to know the timing when the apparatus can be safely deformed or operated without exerting an undue stress on the apparatus. Further, when the medical treatment apparatus is cooled to a temp. at which the safe deformation is possible or below, the base material restores the original appearance and indicates the state that the safe deformation or operation of the apparatus is no longer possible.
