PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information automatic classification method/device which can efficiently classify information of mush document data into plural categories in a short time and to provide a recording medium recording an information automatic classification program.;SOLUTION: Document data is inputted from a document input part 101, and categories for classification and the features are inputted from a category information input part 103. A feature vector is calculated from the inputted categories and the features and they are stored. A classification reference is inputted and stored. A category is newly generated by using the inputted categories, features and the classification reference in an intermediate category calculation part 107. The similar category in the inputted categories is allocated to the similar intermediate category. Then, inputted document data is classified by using the category obtained in the processing and the inputted category in a real category calculation part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
