PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To play a music with a correct tempo and to take synchronization with other parts even though a playing operation takes place prior to reaching a sounding start timing. ;SOLUTION: A CPU 11 stores music data received through a MODEM 17 in a floppy disk by an FDD 21 in accordance with the program of a ROM 12. An LED 20 provided for each key of an optical keyboard 19 is light emitted in accordance with the event data of read music data so that a user of the device is guided to the keys to be played. If the keys, which are to be played, are not operated after the sounding start timing of event data is passed, the reading of music data is stopped until an operation takes place.
