PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armrest hinge block for wheelchairs that does not catch fingers, damage clothes, nor cut cables and ducts of power supply. ;SOLUTION: The armrest hinge block used for a rising wheelchair for physically handicapped persons is attached to the vertical part of the backrest. This armrest hinge block is provided with a backrest half block 32 holding a pivot pin, an armrest half block 33, which is pivotally attached with the pivot pin as a center and which has a pore receiving a cylindrical shank 56 of a tilted armrest so that the shank can rotate, and a means, which is disposed between the two half blocks and fixes the shank 56 not to rotate when the tilted armrest is positioned in almost vertical and horizontal planes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
