PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide roller having necessary rigidity, bending strength and surface rigidity and capable of being achieved in wt. reduction. ;SOLUTION: A guide roller 10 for guiding a flexible long sheet material such as a paper material or a material for a magnetic tape to a winding core is equipped with a cylindrical carbon fiber layer formed by winding a carbon fiber prepreg formed by mutually arranging a large number of carbon fibers in parallel to form them into a sheet by a semicured resin around the surface of a released core metal to thermally cure the same, the resin cured layer containing carbon or glass fibers integrated with the surface of the carbon fiber layer to be wound therearound and the support jigs 14 respectively fixed to both ends after the core metal 11 is released.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
