PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute the smooth operation by improving the slag characteristic and making the gas ventilation and the liquid penetration in a blast furnace good condition. ;SOLUTION: When an inner wall in the blast furnace is repaired by spreading refractory at the stopping of blasting into the blast furnace, rebounding dross quantity and slag component at the dropping time into the blast furnace are predicted. When this dropped rebounding dross is melted in the blast furnace, just before and just after spreading the refractory, or just before or just after spreading the refractory, flux raw material single or together with the coke or the iron ore, are charged in the blast furnace. In this way, it is prevented that the blasting pressure is raised by the aggravation of gas ventilation and the abnormal dropping of charged material is generated, and thus, the smooth operation can be obtd.
