PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EPG(electronic program guide) information display method, which can avoid a case, where the EPG information is not hard to view due to deficient space even when the EPG information of a wide range is displayed by displaying the EPG information on the channels of the specific number of channels or a specific time band, while selecting the quantity of information according to the magnifying power of a zoom instruction. SOLUTION: A program information extracting means 15 extracts the information necessary for displaying on a display monitor 5 from the EPG data stored in an EPG data cell storing means 14 and also extracts the information for controlling an external recording device and outputs these extracted information to an external AV equipment control means 6. Then the whole or a part of EPG information on a prescribed channel and time band are displayed, and also the EPG information on the channels of the number of channels and the time bands which are larger or smaller than the channels and time bands displayed immediately before are displayed according to a prescribed zoom instruction. At the same time, the quantity of information according to the zoom instruction is selected and displayed.
