PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved techniques for preventing unauthorized use/ execution of a software program provided to a computer system. ;SOLUTION: A processor 100 incorporates a memory managing unit 15 for managing the storage operation of code/data on a main memory and is provided with an execution permitting instruction for permitting the execution of an application on the main memory as an instruction set. The procedure for the execution permitting instruction is defined by a microprogram and provided with a procedure for certifying the right of using a program. Since the certifying operation is executed inside the processor, it is nearly impossible to monitor/ detect operation from the outside. Besides by using a processor ID 16 characteristically provided in each processor chip as identification information to be used for certifying processing, the right of using the program can be limited to a single processor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
