PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mixture useful especially as a charge-generating substance for electrophotographic photoreceptors which overcomes the shortcoming of charge-generating substances in photoreceptors by reacting a nitrile derivative, a phthalonitrile derivative and a metal or a compound having a metal. ;SOLUTION: A tetraazaporphyrin derivative mixture of formula I is obtained by reacting a nitrile derivative of formula II and a phthalonitrile derivative of formula III. In the formulae, A, B, D and E are each N or CH and at least one of them is N and at least one of them is CH; a1 to a8 are each H, a halogen, a (substituted) alkyl, a (substituted) aryl, a (substituted) cycloalkyl or nitro and adjacent a's may be linked to each other to form a ring. M is a metal atom, a metal oxide, a metal hydroxide or a metal halide; R1 to R6 are each H, a halogen, a (substituted) alkyl, a (substituted) aryl, a (substituted) cycloalkyl, nitro or cyano and adjacent R's may be linked to each other to form a ring.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
