PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an unsaturated polyester resin composition which has good weatherability and external appearance and can secure molding workability and moldability by the open mold method and, at the same time, can form a gelcoat layer excellent in adhesion between the gelcoat layer and a back coat layer, and to provide a method for producing a molded article having a gelcoat layer. ;SOLUTION: This unsaturated polyester resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. unsaturated polyester resin; (B) 30-100 pts.wt. aromatic polymerizable vinyl monomer; (C) 7-100 pts.wt. aliphatic polymerizable vinyl monomer; and (D) 20-10,000 ppm, based on the total weight of components (A), (B) and (C), thermoplastic polymer soluble in the aliphatic polymerizable vinyl monomer (C) with a content weight ratio (D/C) of component (D) to component (C) of at most 1/5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
