PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic effect by which a wide performance expression is given to performance. ;SOLUTION: A filter 2 is changed in accordance with a music sound signal whose frequency characteristic is inputted. A decay characteristic control means 3a controls a decay characteristic in the decay part of an envelope in the music sound signal. A frequency characteristic change means 4 changes the frequency characteristic of the filter 2 in accordance with the controlled music sound signal. Besides, a pitch detecting means 3b detects the pitch of the inputted music sound signal. In this case, the means 4 changes the frequency characteristic of the filter 2 in accordance with the detected pitch. A plucking direction detecting means 3c detects the plucking direction of a string instrument from the inputted sound music signal of the instrument.
