PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic substrate which is free from degradation in display performance and a decrease in yield due to on alignment error even at its peripheral part and an intermediate- or small-sized liquid crystal display element which is manufactured by using the said plastic substrate in a high yield and has uniform display characteristics as to the intermediate- or small- sized liquid crystal display element using the plastic substrate, specially, plural liquid crystal display elements which are manufactured by one sheet of the substrate. ;SOLUTION: In one liquid crystal plastic substrate 11 in which plural liquid crystal display elements are formed on the surface, the plastic substrate for the liquid crystal display elements is constituted so that areas 12 (element formation area) where the liquid crystal display elements are formed are surrounded with an opening 13 present along the circumference of the areas and the liquid crystal display elements are formed by using the plastic substrate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
