PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the system for calculating fractal dimension by the digital image processing of a scenery image thereby judging whether the quality of scenery is normal or abnormal and to provide an intellectual robot vision using the system. ;SOLUTION: In this system to judge the quality of the scenery by using digital image processing technology, the value of the fractal dimension of the object scenery image 1 is calculated and the quality of the scenery is evaluated from the calculated value of the fractal dimension based on a criterion that the scenery is superior in quality when the value of the fractal dimension of the scenery image 1 exsits within the region from 1.50 to 1.65 and is inferior in quality when the value is larger than 1.65 or smaller than 1.50.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
