PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for stably feeding a raw material liquid having a low inert gas content to an evaporator in the production of a porous glass preform. ;SOLUTION: This apparatus for feeding a raw material liquid for a porous glass preform is provided with a storage vessel 4 of a raw material liquid for a porous glass preform obtained by supplying an evaporated raw material to an oxyhydrogen burner 12, an inert gas introducing pipe 2 connected to the storage vessel and a liquid feeding line 5 for forcibly feeding the raw material liquid from the storage vessel 4 with an inert gas having a pressure between atmospheric pressure and 0.2 MPaG and connected to a path 8 for feeding the raw material liquid to an evaporator 10 connected to the burner 12.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
