PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali-aggregate reaction inhibitor in concrete, the inhibitory method and a concrete inhibited its alkali-aggregate reaction. ;SOLUTION: Titanium oxide or tourmaline is added to the cement in a proportion of ≤10 wt.% based on the cement. In the case where titanium dioxide is used, it is admixed to the concrete materials under an environment where the materials are irradiated with ultraviolet rays in order to emit active oxygen. Thus, the expansion coefficient of the concrete is suppressed lower than 0.2%. Incidentally, the expansion coefficient of conventional concrete is 0.42%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
