PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which the half-life of a disintegration nuclide is shortened without relying on a nuclear means such as a nuclear fission means or the like. ;SOLUTION: X-rays whose energy corresponding to the maximum value of an X-ray spectrum is higher than the ionization energy of K-orbital electrons existing around an atomic nucleus are radiated. A state that an electron density around the atomic nucleus is reduced is maintained. Thereby, the half-life of a β disintegration nuclide is shortened. Preferably, the X-rays whose energy corresponding to the maximum value of the X-ray spectrum is at the ionization energy or higher of the orbital electrons are radiated from a beam spot at a photon intensity of 1011 pieces/second or higher per cm2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
