PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot rolled steel wire rod with scale whose surface covered with a scale layer excellent in protecting properties in the process of storage and transport and mechanical descaling properties. ;SOLUTION: As to the hot rolled wire rod with scale whose surface is covered with a scale layer in which the area ratio of defect generating parts causing blisters is ≤10%, the steel stock is preferably composed of carbon steel or low alloy steel contg., by weight, 0.7 to 1.1% C, 0.1 to 1.5% Si, 0.2 to 1% Mn, 0 to 1% Cr, ≤0.0003% Al, ≤0.01% S and 0.001 to 0.01% Ca or/and one or more kinds among Y, Ce, La, Nd and Pr by 0.0005 to 0.02% in total.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
