HORIZONTAL CONTINUOUSLY CASTING MOLD OF HYPO-EUTECTIC CASTING IRON AND HORIZONTAL CONTINUOUSLY CASTING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a product of high quality, carbonic equivalence of which is less than a specific value, while preventing rapture and break out of a casting piece, by using a mold provided at a molten metal pouring side, in a way that a member composed of ceramics, containing a nitride, having thermal expansion coefficient of less than a specific value, is inscribed in a water cooling jacket inner wall. ;SOLUTION: A hypo-eutectic casting iron, wherein CE=C+Si/3 is 3.9 or less, is continuously cast horizontally by using a mold provided at preferably a molten metal pouring side. In this case, a member being composed of ceramics (A), whose thermal expansion coefficient is 1×10-6(°C-1) or less, containing a nitride, is inscribed in an inner wall of a water cooling jacket 3. Also, the other member composed of graphite or ceramics (B) containing the nitride is provided at the mold molten metal outlet side. If the other member has a slope in its inner radius corresponding to the thermal contraction, contact with a solidification metal is sufficiently performed at the slope, resulting in a smooth cooling, heat releasing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
