PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically issue a warning to a traffic violation vehicle on expressway. ;SOLUTION: In this traffic violation warning system, entrance gate position information and the entry time are written without contacting to an on-vehicle device 18 loaded on a vehicle 5 entering the highway at an entrance gate provided on the expressway, the entrance gate position information and the entry time stored in the on-vehicle device loaded on the vehicle leaving the highway are read in non-contact state at an exit gate provided on the expressway and the traveling time of the vehicle is calculated from the read entry time and the leaving time from the exit gate. When the calculated traveling time is shorter than allowable traveling time determined based on the entrance gate position information and exit gate position information, the traffic violation is warned to the vehicle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
