An apparatus for warning signal violation based on a traffic condition according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an arrival calculation portion for calculating the time until a vehicle arrives at a signal violation point by using traffic information from the signal violation point to a signal alerting point when the vehicle arrives at the signal violation point; a control portion for determining signal violation of the vehicle by using a signal change remaining time and a time for reaching the signal violation point by the vehicle among the traffic information; and an alerting portion for outputting a signal violation alert when the vehicle violates a traffic signal.
