PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurremce of the after burn in the restart of an engine. ;SOLUTION: This device comprises an ignition circuit 4 generating high voltage for ignition when an ignition signal is transmitted, a stop switch SW generating the stop instruction for instructing the stop of the internal combustion engine, and an ignition positon control part 9 transmitting an ignition signal Vi to the ignition circuit 4 at an ignition position for normal operation within an allowable fluctuation range of the ignition position to be kept for maintaining the rotation of an engine, when the rotation of the engine is to be kept, and transmitting the ignition signal Vi to the ignition circuit 4 at an ignition position for stop determined on a position over a limiting position at a lag side of the allowable fluctuation range, when the stop switch SW is closed and the stop instruction is given.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
