PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the performance deterioration of a plurality of oscillatory wave devices by driving the devices with mutual correlation, when one of the devices is not in a prescribed driving state while the devices are independently driven and controlled. ;SOLUTION: A boosting means 2 boosts a voltage to the voltage, corresponding to the pulse width of a pulse frequency outputted from a pulse generator 1 in accordance with the pulse width. When the boosted two-phase AC voltage (A-phase and B-phase drive signals) is impressed upon each piezoelectric element, the friction driving surface of the driving section of a vibrating body makes circular or elliptic motions, and a moving body which is press-contacted with the friction driving surface is driven. The speed of an oscillatory wave motor 3 is controlled, based on the information written in memories 6a and 6b. When the driving speed of the moving body is slower than a target speed, the down-count value of a speed detector 5 increases and the memory 6a outputs a negative value which is smaller than zero. When the driving speed is faster than the target speed, the memory 6a outputs a positive value which is larger than zero. When the difference between the driving speed and target speed exceeds a prescribed range, the motor 3 is controlled with a large value at which the motor 3 stably operates.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
