SOLUTION: In the gene motif extraction processor comprising the data input 10 for inputting at least one gene sequence information, the data editor 12 for doing a variety of editions to the input gene sequence information and indicating the motif extraction range, the motif extractor 16 for automatically extracting gene motifs from the indicated motif extraction range, the extraction result processor 18 for displaying and the extracted motif and for cataloging the motif date to the data base on the gene sequence information or the like and the motif retriever 20 for searching from the data base 28 including the gene sequence information partially containing the extracted motif, the gene sequence information searched by the motif retriever 20 is inputted to the data editor 12, thereby adding the information to the gene sequence information inputted from the data input 10.
