PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluorescent probe capable of allowing the concentration of inositol triphosphate in various bio samples including cells to be determined readily and accurately without using a radioisotope or the like by integrating a part of phospholipase Cδ with a fluorescent material. ;SOLUTION: This fluorescent probe is obtained by integrating a part of a phospholipase Cδ such as rat phospholipase Cδ1 having an amino acid sequence of the formula with a fluorescent material such as a green fluorescent protein derived from a jellyfish. The fluorescent material such as a fluorescent compound is preferably coupled with a thiol group of the phospholipase Cδ. Preferably, the concentration of the inositol triphosphate in a sample is determined by bringing the fluorescent probe into contact with the sample containing the inositol triphosphate and measuring the light intensity radiated by the probe. A distribution of the inositol triphosphate in a cell is preferably determined by introducing a fused gene encoding a fused protein of the part of the phospholipase Cδ with the fluorescent protein, into the cell to express the fluorescent probe, and measuring the light intensity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
