PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent percolation of oily substance or mutual aggregation of heat storage agents by preparing the heat storage agent filling a heat storage tank along with an aqueous medium from a polymer of specified mean grain size having water absorbing surface and holding a heat storing oily substance under a state where fluidity is substantially lost. SOLUTION: An integral moisture containing type heat storage agent is prepared from a polymer of mean grain size of 350 m or above being gelatinized by the containing moisture having water absorbing surface and holding a heat storing oily substance under a substantially nonfluidity state. The integral moisture containing type designates such a structure as a water absorbing polymer part is bonded chemically to the surface of a heat storing oily substance through copolymerization and the heat storage agent itself has water absorbing surface and contains moisture in an aqueous solvent. Such a heat storage agent is produced by mixing an oily substance with a monomer component reacting on the oily substance to impart the resulting polymer with water absorbing properties in an aqueous solvent while keeping compatibility and suspension polymerizing.
