PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soundness diagnosing method capable of confirming soundness of a pressure sensor and obtain a gas pressure detecting apparatus provided with a soundness diagnosing means of the pressure sensor. ;SOLUTION: A measurement auxiliary apparatus 5 has a main body part 6, to which a pressure sensor 12 is fixed and a piston chamber part 8. The piston chamber part 8 and the main body part 6 constitute a gas chamber 11 for pressure measurement which can change volume. An electric signal Vout from the pressure sensor 12 is converted into gas pressure by a signal processing means 21. A pressure change detecting means 22 calculates a pressure change value from a normal pressure from the signal processing means 21, and a test pressure when a pressure is changed. An electromagnetic valve 13 is closed, connection with a vessel 1 is cut off, a piston 8a is moved in above direction of the figure, the pressure in the gas chamber 11 for pressure measurement is increased by a specified value, and comparison with a pressure change value detected by the pressure change detecting means 22 is made.
