PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tissue anchor inserting instrument and method for guiding and inserting a cannulated tissue anchor into a predetermined position in an operated part. SOLUTION: This surgical instrument for inserting a cannulated surgical implant into an operated part includes a surgical implant assembly 200 consisting of an elongate needle 212 having a proximal end and a distal end, for freely slidably storing the implant thereon, an elongate pusher 210 having a proximal end and a distal end, for pushing the implant away from the needle, and an elongate tube having a proximal end and a distal end for slidably holding the implant, needle, and pusher; a first movement means 150 for moving the needle a first predetermined distance away; and a second movement means 152 for moving the pusher a second predetermined distance away and thereby sliding the implant away from the tube along the needle.
