PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibody useful for detection of Alzheimer's disease by using a partial peptide of a specific phosphorylated tau protein as an immunogen. ;SOLUTION: This antibody is the one against a phosphorylated tau protein obtained by using the phosphorylated tau protein in paired helical filaments as an immunogen. The partial peptide is selected from the group consisting of a protein containing serine residue corresponding to the serine residue in position 199 in an amino acid sequence of the formula, and phosphorylated, and a protein containing threonine residue corresponding to the threonine residue in position 231, and phosphorylated, a protein containing serine residue corresponding to the serine residue in position 235, and phosphorylated, and a protein containing the threonine residue corresponding to the threonine residue in position 231 and the serine residue corresponding to the serine residue in position 235, and phosphorylated.
