CONTROL METHOD FOR OPTICAL DISK LIBRARY DEVICE AND SYSTEM PROVIDED WITH OPTICAL DISK LIBRARY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable finishing recording and reproducing for a short time without exchanging an optical disk frequently even if access request is performed simultaneously for optical disks of more sheets than the number of optical disk drives. ;SOLUTION: When an empty optical disk drive does not exists (S25, 26), it is Judged whether an elapsed time from final recording/reproducing to the present time is longer than a reference time t_ref previously set or not (S27, 28, 30). Then, an optical disk in an optical disk drive judged as a longer one is returned to a rack (S32, 38), an optical disk to be accessed is transmitted to an optical disk drive being made empty and recording/reproducing are performed (S33-37, S39-43), when an optical disk drive judged as a longer one does not exists, recording/reproducing is reserved (S29).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
