Rhombus deformation reform device null of the rectangular slab in continuous casting

PURPOSE: To suppress the rhombic deformation during casting of square slabs and to prevent the rhombic deformation. ;CONSTITUTION: Continuous casting equipment which has a drawing and straightening device on the downstream side of a curved slag guiding passage and produces square slabs 2 is provided with a roll unit consisting of a pair of cylindrical vertical rolls 5a, 5b for holding and pressurizing both side faces on the non-curving surface side of the square slabs 2 on the upstream side near this drawing and straightening device 3. This roll unit is provided with a roll opening/closing quantity tuning mechanism 20 and the guiding direction of guide liners 12 thereof is aligned to the center line direction of the strand. The equipment is provided with a changeover switch for changing over the output of a hydraulic cylinder 7 for opening and closing the rolls. The high output is set at the output enough to apply the stress exceeding the deformation resistance stress value which is the property value of the slab material. The low output is set at the output not satisfying the deformation resistance stress value. The rhombic deformation is straightened when the slab is held by the high output. The rhombic deformation is prevented if the slab is held by the low output.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
