PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muffler for an unexcited operation type electromagnetic brake, capable of making a gap small between an armature and a lining even when no accuracy in part processing is enhanced, also adjusting the gap, and of reducing collision sound when the armature is hit against the lining during a brake operation. ;SOLUTION: An annular groove 8b is provided for the end face of an adjusting plate 8 faced to the boss part of a braking plate 4, an annular elastic body 10 is so buried in that its one part is projected out of the annular groove 8b so as to be brought into contact with the end face of the boss part, so that the adjusting plate 8 is fixed to a rotating shaft 12. A slide quantity adjusting bolt 9 having a head part 9a, and a circular column part 9b longer than the thickness 8t, is inserted into the through hole of the adjusting plate so as to be fixed to the end face of the boss part 4b. A braking plate 4 can be slid to the respective opposite directions by means of the energizing force of a braking spring 6 and the restoring force of the annular elastic body 10. The difference between the length 9t of the circular column part 9b and the thickness 8t of the adjusting plate 8 shall be the sliding quantity (s) of the circular column part 9b.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
