PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject composition containing the thymus of a mammal as a main component, effective for decreasing antinuclear antibody and rheumatoid factor value, free from side effect and useful for the treatment of systemic erythematodes, etc. SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) the thymus of a mammal as a main component and preferably further (B) one or more substances selected from adlay extract, SANSHO (Zanthoxylum schinifolium) extract, GOKAHI (Periplusa sepium) extract, pine leaf extract and licorice extract, (C) one or more substances selected from KOUKOU extract, KEIKETSUTOU (Mucuna birdwoodiana) extract, KEISHI (Cinnamomum cassia) extract, safflower extract and KAIKEIJIOUKEICHA powder (a kind of herb tea) and (D) one or more substances selected from calcium, vitamin B group (e.g. thiamine nitrate, riboflavin, pyridoxine haydroeluloride or cyanocobalamin) and vitamin E (tocopherol). The mammal is preferably cattle, sheep or pig.
