PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently obtain retort peanuts having flavor of boiled peanuts made from an undried peanuts with shells, having a low decreasing rate of flavor and hardly causing septicity even if the peanuts are distributed at a normal temperature. ;SOLUTION: This retort peanuts are obtained by washing harvested undried peanuts with shells, covering the washed peanuts with common salt and vitamin C, packing the covered peanuts in a bag for a retort food hardly permeable to oxygen so as to be arranged in one layer, and, for example, carrying out a retort treatment of about 12 minutes at 121°C.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
